The auxiliary power unit (APU) is used as a booster to provide energy to all aircraft when the jet engines are out of service on the ground. This mechanism enables the on-board systems to operate. It is composed of a power generator and an air compressor to produce the aeroplane's pneumatic force. It also contains a gearbox to channel the engine's power to the mechanical elements.
