Hoosier Spring Company, Inc., a leading manufacturer of compression springs, is now in its third generation of specializing in the manufacture, heat treatment and inspection of precision springs and wire forms for hundreds of the world’s top aerospace, military, nuclear (Navy and commercial), and industrial companies.
After serving in the Pacific with the Marines during World War II, Emery “Jim” Suth, the founder, gained his spring manufacturing experience at The Bendix Corporation in South Bend, Indiana. For several years he worked in their Development Department where he hand wound small quantities of springs for a variety of new product initiatives. In the early 1950’s The Bendix Corporation made the decision to phase out this program. Undeterred, Jim saw this as an opportunity to put his knowledge and experience to use, and in 1954, Hoosier Spring Company, Inc. was founded.
We would be remiss if we did not honor Jim and the original six employees of Hoosier Spring Company, Inc.—all of whom deserve special recognition for their hard work and dedication, especially during difficult times in the first years of business. They were Harold Pipke (deburr and finish), John Bartoszek (inspection), Dick Paczkowski (accounting), Ernie Kish (grinding), Joe Karason (coiling, compression springs) and Frank Suth (coiling, extension, torsion, compression, wire forms). We will forever be indebted to Jim Suth and his “Original Six", as they have come to be known.
From our humble beginnings almost 60 years ago in Jim Suth’s garage, Hoosier Spring Company has grown into a respected leader in the manufacture of compression springs, precision springs and wire forms. Thanks to an ongoing roster of professional employees committed to excellence, you can be assured of the highest quality springs and wire forms for any and all of your application needs.
