STRATEGIC CAPABILITY, TACTICAL VALUE
Textron Systems’ Shadow M2 builds on the unparalleled success of our Shadow 200 Tactical Unmanned Aircraft System (TUAS), which has more than one million flight hours around the world. Delivering greater endurance and payload capacity, the Shadow M2 is a technological leap forward in every way. Its multi-mission capability and performance make it comparable to much larger strategic UAS. Yet its commonality to the latest version of the Shadow 200, designated the RQ-7B Version 2 (V2) by the U.S. Department of Defense, brings its capability into reach affordably for existing users, and far more economically than larger systems.
During more than one million flight hours, primarily in combat operations, Textron Systems’ skilled operators and maintainers working alongside customers in the field saw the original Shadow TUAS become the trusted eyes of the commander. The Shadow M2 builds on that unmatched experience to deliver multi mission capability and performance far outweighing comparably sized aircraft – bringing strategic-level capability at a TUAS size, price point and operational cost.
SHADOW M2 DUAL-PAYLOAD CONFIGURATION
The dual-payload Shadow M2 configuration incorporates two large, configurable bays for high-definition electro-optic/infrared and laser designation equipment, as well as additional sensors based on customer requirements: synthetic aperture radar, ground moving target identification, or other special-purpose payloads. The additional space also can be provisioned as an auxiliary fuel storage tank to increase endurance up to18 hours. With a total payload capacity of 130 pounds (lbs.) (59 kilograms, or kg) with a full fuel load, or the ability to trade fuel for additional payload capacity up to 200 lbs. (91 kg), the Shadow M2 dual-payload variant achieves a multi-mission capability far greater than comparably sized systems, and far more affordably than larger strategic systems.
